We have been very busy here at Eclectic Mix towers over the summer months!
Building on the success of our recent summer pop up event at St Andrew’s Street Baptist Church in June we are ready to launch some autumn events. So grab your diary and make a note of what we have in store and get Autumn off to a great start!!
Firstly, we are kicking off in style at the brand new Cambridge Home & Garden Show, Saturday 9th September at the Guildhall, central Cambridge. If you love interiors, looking for inspiration & ideas for a home design project or in need of expertise from the best of local tradespeople, designers and makers then this show has plenty on offer to advise you on any type of home or garden project.
We are very excited to have bagged a stand at the show joining over 30 other independent home & garden exhibitors to showcase 8 wonderful local artists some you may already know including:-
Clare Maria Wood known for her vibrant cornish landscapes and recently awarded the Daniel Smith Award by the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists (SEAW). Iona Howard showcasing her gentle, undulating landscapes of the fens, Maria Merridan (print maker) creator of nostalgic, monochrome prints of bird, hares and other wildlife. Sue Smith (local illustrator) with her lovely ‘pen and ink’ prints of local landmarks (see her work in the Cambridge Art Book). We also have our very own Mandy Knapp with her distinctive art prints to liven up your walls. Add to this new artists Emma Malfroy (print maker) with her colourful works, showcased at Burwash Manor Artist Marque (Open Studios). Maureen Charles (glass maker) with her glorious glassworks and lovely artist/designer Veronica Ellis selling under the branded name of Nature’s Grace (recently exhibited at Balzano’s deli and the Stir cafe, Cambridge). So come visit our super colourful display of art products and throughout the day visitors can ‘Meet the Artist’ to find out more about them and their artwork.
In addition we are very privileged and excited to have local Artist/Author Emma Bennett on our stand to promote her beautiful book ‘Cambridge Art Book’ (between 10 – 12pm). The book showcases the best of Cambridge through wonderful illustrations by 51 local artists/printmakers including our very own Sue Smith (p36 & 49) – so do come and meet Emma (and Sue) to talk about the book, their art and grab yourself a signed copy available to buy from our stand at £14.99 (makes a lovely gift or coffee table accessory).
